San Francisco Design Travel Guide #HOWidc

The West Coast edition of the HOW Interactive Design Conference is in the heart of San Francisco, and you may well leave your heart there. If you’re joining us for this web design conference in San Francisco Oct. 29-31, I hope you’ll make a little time to see the city! We’ve created this design travel guide for San Francisco with recommended restaurants, nearby bars, essential museums and galleries, shopping and more fun stuff.

Your home base for the conference is conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco (and just around the corner from last year’s location). The Powell Street BART station can get you pretty much anywhere in the city, and there are plenty of buses going down Market Street (see this map from SFMTA to get an idea of your options).

Anything else you’d add?

Unfortunately I won’t be joining you in October, but I couldn’t help but notice that you left Scoma’s — down in Fisherman’s Wharf — off of the restaurant list. It may not be near the conference, but you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to enjoy some of the freshest and best tasting seafood you’ll ever put in your mouth. Also, since you’ll be down at Fisherman’s Wharf, you should also enjoy a sourdough bread bowl full of fresh clam chowder and top it all off with a visit to the Ghirardelli chocolate factory. Is it dinner time yet?
