When I lived in the IT world a common phrase was KISS, or Keep It Simple Stupid. It turns out that it can be really easy to overcomplicate things. Sites like Retina Folio remind me that when a product is crazy simple—and also really awesome—you sometimes can get away with an insanely simple sales pitch. In this case, I imagine that time constraints somewhat dictated this basic design approach. But is more really necessary? It is always great to be reminded of how effective simplicity can be.
