Simplicity and Clarity: Always Effective in Web Design

Trends may come and go, design is simplicity and clarity are always good strategies in web design. When you keep something simple, and communicate it as clearly as possible, you’re setting yourself up for good things.

On today’s site of the day, the BT Annual Report, we find this combination at work. The home page and larger site are rich with content that takes very real effort to absorb. This is why I love the super clear design of the initial page. You get a bold, easy to read statement that sums up the site’s guiding principles. Instead of communicating what they do, they communicate their beliefs. The site’s messaging brings the focus down to a very simple set of ideas, something to hang your hat on. If you’re dealing with a complex project, this can be a great approach.
