Site of the Day: appicns.com

Appicns.com website homepage

This is a website where you can download nicely designed icons for different applications and use them to pretty up your Mac’s dock; it’s a personal project from product designer Andrew McCarthy and graphic designer Kara Zichittella. While I certainly love the simple design of this website, there’s one nuance that I want to point out: If you visit this site and click around, you can’t miss the way you transition among the different bits of content. It seems so simple the way an icon slides into view when you click on the thumbnail. But setting something like this up and getting it to be so fast and fluid isn’t always so easy. This website is quick, responsive and just fun to browse around. I wish the same could be said of more sites.
