Homepage sliders are perhaps one of the most common web page elements in use today. So it’s always surprising to find creative and new approaches. This site, for a bike shop in Zagreb, Croatia, puts the slider off to the side in a space that fills the browser vertically. The placement is far from typical; too, notice how much effort has gone into ensuring it doesn’t dominate the page. The large copy in the right-hand section is the clear focal point. When working with funky layouts like this it’s always important to carefully consider the basics. In this case, the hierarchy of the page is tightly controlled within the creative layout.
