When design agencies run creatively amok, they often apply this excess to their own websites. In such cases you find sites that break all the rules of web design and fail terribly. But every now and again a group of designers produce an agency marketing site that breaks the rules but doesn’t suck. The crew at Butterworth Sullivan, an interdisciplinary firm in the U.K., did exactly that, creating a unique and amazing site that clearly communicates their work, style and client base—all while luring you in and forcing you to uncontrollably want to work with them. The layout retains just enough of the standard layout (logo and navigation) to remain very usable, while the content region throws a big, fat curveball at you. The result is really are slick and beautiful. I love it (clearly).
