Site of the Day: JohnDierks.com

John Dierks homepage

Perhaps you’ve noticed that I enjoy intentionally contradicting myself, as doing so highlights the vast array of options web designers have and the possibility that any approach can work given the proper polish. In that spirit, here’s another portfolio site, for web developer and strategist John Dierks. This one certainly doesn’t have a humanizing touch (like yesterday’s SOTD, the portfolio website for designer Daniel Filler); instead, it’s built on a crazy concept. As you scroll down the page to view Dierks’s work, the percentage counters in the static left-hand sidebar change to reflect the balance of skills each project required. This is an interesting way of highlighting the designer’s flexibility and range of experience.
