Mobile and tablet-oriented website design are getting a lot of attention these days, and for good reason. But the reality is that desktops are still the most prevalent way people get online, at least for now. Ironically, monitor sizes are getting larger and larger. My current setup is a pair of 24″ screens, something that would have been hard to dream of 10 years ago. That said, I love Tinypass for the simple reason that it embraces the big screen. I get the true large-scale experience, not a website that’s been designed to fit a slender column that works on a mobile screen. Don’t get me wrong—I love responsive design; but I also love a robust big-screen friendly design, as well.
